What does fatherhood mean to you?
Fatherhood means many things. One of the most important characteristics of fatherhood is spending as much positive time with my children as possible. Another important aspect is having great communication skills with my children.
What is the best part of being a dad?
For me, the best part of being a dad is coming home from work and having my children waiting for me with smiling faces.
What is your proudest moment as a dad?
Seeing my nine year-old and my three year-old playing respectfully and lovingly together. I was so proud because I knew I had a lot to do with this.
What do you and your child(ren) do for fun?
My children and I enjoy going to the park, building and shooting rockets, riding bikes and spending time together at the pool.
What is the hardest part about being a dad?
The hardest part about being a dad is definitely disciplining my children.
What kind of dad do you strive to be?
I strive to be a role model, a listener, teacher and, most importantly, a loving father.
Describe your funniest moment as a dad.
I don’t think I have a “funniest” moment as a dad because there is never a day that goes by without both of my children making me laugh either internally or externally.
What would you hope that your kids would say about you if asked what kind of a dad they have?
The best! He listens, he is fun and he’s loving.
What is the most important piece of advice you’ve received about fatherhood?
Patience. With every aspect of fatherhood and parenting, patience needs to come first.
What would you consider to be your most inspiring moment as a dad?
It would have to be last Easter when a couple was sitting next to us and when I stood up the older gentleman also stood up and complimented me on what a wonderful and well-behaved family I had. What a moment!
